Money Saving Apps: Michael’s

Whenever I’m feeling crafty it’s off to Michael’s I go! They always seem to have great deals going on. But more than that, they give great coupons and promo codes to get discounts on items throughout the store.

The Michael’s app always has a great coupon. many times I’ve been able to get 50% off regularly priced items. On my last visit I got multiple discounts on 6 items and escaped for $7! It took care of an entire art project and then some.

The app is very easy to use. Just open it up, got to the menu, choose “coupons” and view what is available that day. More than likely you’ll find some great deals. These are today’s…

I am working on some new bedroom art soon I will be posting later about how it turns out. Fingers crossed!

This weekend was an eventful one in the TTB house. We had a nice morning date yesterday for Valentine’s Day. We headed over to a fun little spot we recently discovered called The Loving Pie Company. They serve coffee and every kind of pie you can imagine. Yesterday’s special was apple pie topped with cinnamon rolls.

What?! Yes. And it was so good. I was giddy when I ordered my slice. I’d been wanting to try it for awhile. As per the Valentine’s Day tradition, Nate and I got our Little Caesar’s pizza and enjoyed a nice evening in.

This afternoon consisted of chores and grocery shopping. We are currently under a snow storm warning and the grocery store was a bit hectic.

Why the bread? It’s always the bread. If you’re in any dangerous wintry weather, please stay safe and warm!

Money Saving Apps: Scoutmob

Hi friends! I hope your Wednesday has been a good one. Are you ready for another fun app that will help save you money?

IMG_2395
Scoutmob is a free app you can download on your smartphone and use it to get some amazing local deals in your city. When you download the app, you will be asked to choose the city you live in. Once you choose, there will be a list of all the deals associated with your city. And they are pretty amazing. Most of them are 50% discounts with no catches. How cool is that?!

The deals range from coffee to beer to donuts to haircuts to clothing. If you’re looking for some new places to try around your city, why not get a discount in the process? 🙂

IMG_2397

Now, the sad part it there are only a handful of cities to choose from. Don’t be too disappointed if you don’t see yours there. Scoutmob appears to be growing slowly, so hold on! Maybe you’ll see your city listed soon.

For those of you who don’t have Scoutmob local deals, don’t worry! Scoutmob also has an online “shoppe” here that anyone can browse and find awesome deals on. If you’re looking for some unique Christmas gifts, it may be worth your time to browse the site a bit.

The best part about the Scoutmob local deals app is, of course… the mustache cam. 🙂

Have you tried Scoutmob before? Likes or dislikes?
Goodnight, friends! See you later this week.

Money Saving Apps: Target’s “Cartwheel”

Note: This is not a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

I love Target. Looooove it. It’s one of my favorite stores. I go to Target about every other week to buy our household/toiletry items we need.  I often catch myself wandering the house decor and clothing sections, too…

We do most of our grocery shopping at Publix or Trader Joe’s with some sporadic “oops I forgot ____” trips to Kroger. But the places we buy food usually don’t have the best deals on personal care or cosmetic items, so I make a trip to Target to pick those types of things up.

What made me love Target even more is their new “Cartwheel” app for your smartphone. It’s been around for a year or so, but it is a great tool to save you a few bucks each time you walk in the door. We’re carrying around these smartphones…we may as well make them work for us!

Using Cartwheel is pretty simple. You download the app, create a profile, and start browsing the offers. There are so many to choose from, as you can see…

If you see one you will use, click “ADD” and it will move into your “cartwheel.”

IMG_2278

You can only save a certain number of offers on your cartwheel. The more you use the app, the more spots you will gain to save & use offers. I started with 12 or so spots but now I’m up to 16, just from using the app. When you are ready to check out, you just click the “barcode” option on the menu and the cashier scans your phone, applying all the deals you’ve chosen.

You save $3-$5 here and there, depending on how often you shop and how much you buy, but every dollar counts, especially when you’re on a budget! I’d recommend downloading it today and browsing the deals to see if it’s something that can help save you a few bucks.

Have you given Cartwheel a try yet? Has it save you any money? Please feel free to share!
